When it comes to explore the ancient Chinese capital of Xian, make sure you have visited Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. First discovered in 1974, it is one of the greatest discoveries in the world archaeology history and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritages site in 1987.
After finished my local breakfast of soy milk and fried dough Sticks, I make my way to today’s destination - Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Firstly I take a bus to the train station, then change Terra Cotta Warriors special line – Bus 306 (游5) .
The ticket price includes both Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum and Mausoleum of First Emperor Qinshihuang.
The museum has three pits (founded and excavated in different periods). And the first pit is the largest one of magnificent size. How amazing it is! No wonder the museum is reputed as ‘the Eighth Wonder’ in the world.
Then I come to Pit 2, where there are 1,400 warriors, including cavalrymen and commanders, providing us insight into the ancient Chinese army 2000 years ago. Here are photos of life-sized warriors, and war chariot and horses presented in Pit 2.
And Pit 3 - the army headquarter of the Emperor Qin Shihuang’s troops
After touring Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, I have a short visit (abt half an hour) of the mysterious Mausoleum of First Emperor Qinshihuang, who was the master of Xian Terracotta Army.
